These elaborate offerings are built on bamboo scaffolding. There were 28 of them clustered around the front of the Tin Hau temple, one provided by each worship group. At the auction, if a family wanted exceptional good luck for the coming year, they would purchase the red cloth surrounding the Fa Pao.
